The specialised medical aircraft arrived in Dhaka earlier at 9:10 am to transport the senior politician.
Mirza Abbas fell ill and lost consciousness on Wednesday evening, following which he was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara that night. Hospital authorities immediately formed a medical board to oversee his treatment.
Medical sources confirmed that two brain surgeries were subsequently performed on the BNP leader. A CT scan conducted yesterday showed positive results, according to Rafiqul Islam, BNP's Health Affairs Secretary. The medical board has kept Mirza Abbas under continuous close monitoring since the procedures.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been maintaining regular contact regarding the health condition of this senior party leader. The Prime Minister personally visited Evercare Hospital last Friday afternoon to inquire about Mirza Abbas's condition.
Several prominent national leaders have also visited the hospital to check on Mirza Abbas's health, including Local Government Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and Leader of the Opposition and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
The air ambulance transfer to Singapore indicates the need for specialised medical attention beyond what is currently available domestically, underscoring the critical nature of his condition.
