Turkish Airlines has achieved the prestigious “Best International Airline of the Year” title at the TOAB International Tourism Awards 2026 in Bangladesh, marking another significant achievement for the globally renowned carrier. The recognition was presented during a grand ceremony held at Sheraton Dhaka on Sunday, attended by prominent figures from the tourism and aviation sectors.

The award was handed over by State Minister for Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat to Islam Gure, the Country Manager of Turkish Airlines in Bangladesh, who accepted the honour on behalf of the airline. The accolade reflects the carrier’s growing brand image and strong presence in Bangladesh’s aviation industry over the years.

Since launching operations in Bangladesh in 2010, Turkish Airlines has gradually strengthened its position in the market by providing reliable services, modern travel facilities, and a wide international route network. The airline has gained the confidence and loyalty of passengers through its consistent commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Currently, Turkish Airlines operates daily flights from Dhaka, connecting Bangladeshi travelers to destinations across the globe through its main hub in Istanbul. The airline’s extensive network allows seamless travel to major cities throughout Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, making it a preferred choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Industry observers believe the award recognises not only the airline’s high service standards but also its contribution to strengthening Bangladesh’s international connectivity and tourism sector. Turkish Airlines has played an important role in facilitating easier global travel for Bangladeshi passengers while also promoting tourism and business opportunities between Bangladesh and other countries.

The award ceremony was presided over by Md Rafeauzaman, President of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB). The event brought together leading figures from the travel and tourism industry, aviation professionals, business leaders, and diplomats from various countries. Their presence highlighted the growing importance of Bangladesh’s tourism and aviation sectors on the global stage.

Receiving this prestigious recognition further strengthens Turkish Airlines’ reputation in Bangladesh and reinforces its commitment to providing world-class service and expanding its partnership with the country’s growing travel market.
