The Australian High Commission in Bangladesh has advised visa applicants to remain cautious of fraud and to verify all application details through the Australian government’s official online immigration system, ImmiAccount.

In a notice shared on its verified Facebook page on Tuesday, the High Commission stated that all Australian visa applications, including those submitted through migration agents, must be lodged via the official ImmiAccount platform.

Applicants were encouraged to ensure that any migration agent handling their case provides them with direct access to their ImmiAccount so they can personally monitor and confirm information related to their application.

The mission advised applicants to carefully review personal details such as their name, date of birth, and passport information, confirm the visa category applied for, track application progress, and check whether biometric instruction letters match the visa type submitted.

Visa seekers were also urged to regularly monitor notifications and updates issued through the platform by the Australian government.
According to the High Commission, having direct access to ImmiAccount can help applicants avoid scams and maintain transparency during the visa process.

The mission further shared online guidance on applying for visas, managing applications digitally, and understanding the next steps after submission.

The warning comes amid increasing international concerns over visa fraud and unethical practices by unauthorised agents, particularly targeting students and migrants.
