Certificate course on tourism and hospitality launched by BITH

The Bangladesh Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (BITH), under the supervision of the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry and operated by the Bangladesh Tourism Board, has announced a six-month certificate training program aimed at equipping participants with professional skills in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Training in four key areas

Front Office Service, Office Management, Housekeeping, and Reservation & Ticketing. Each course has a capacity of 25 participants, with a tuition fee of Tk 30,000 per trainee.

According to the institute, the program is designed to create job opportunities alongside practical training. Students will receive hands-on experience through internships at reputed organizations. For Front Office Service, internships will be conducted at Intercontinental Dhaka and Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. For Office Management and Reservation & Ticketing, trainees will work with Sabre Travel Network (Bangladesh) Ltd.

The training follows international standards and is aligned with the technical education board's curriculum. The institute emphasizes that successful completion of the program will open doors to careers in hotels, travel agencies, and aviation-related service sectors.

The eligibility criteria vary by course. Candidates with SSC or HSC qualifications may apply depending on the specific program. Classes are scheduled with dedicated time slots, and trainees will receive certification recognized by the national tourism authority.

Officials from BITH stated that the initiative aims to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in Bangladesh's expanding tourism and hospitality industry. The government has prioritized this sector as a key driver of economic growth and employment generation.
