The minister welcomes the company's interest and invites it to submit a formal proposal through due process
Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS), a globally reputed aviation services provider, has expressed interest in providing ground handling services at the Third Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on Monday.
The interest was conveyed during a meeting between Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and representatives of SATS at the ministry.
During the meeting, the minister welcomed the company's interest and invited it to submit a formal proposal through the appropriate process. She assured the representatives that any proposal would receive due consideration.
The discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation in the aviation services sector and the opportunities emerging from the ongoing expansion of Bangladesh's airport infrastructure.
Officials noted that the Third Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is expected to significantly enhance passenger handling capacity and operational efficiency once it becomes fully operational.
The development has attracted growing interest from international aviation service providers seeking to participate in airport operations and related services.
SATS is one of Asia's leading aviation service companies, providing ground handling, air cargo and in-flight catering services at numerous international airports across the region and beyond.
Industry observers believe the participation of globally experienced aviation service providers could help strengthen operational standards and improve service quality at Bangladesh's largest international gateway as it prepares for a new phase of expansion and increased passenger traffic.
