The Mahisarer Dighi is surrounded by numerous structures, including the Digambari monk's house, fairground, double pond, Manasa temple, Kali temple square and Lakshmi temple, which are immortal witnesses to history. During the re-excavation of the dighi in 1982, several rare archaeological artifacts including a 42-kg Kosti-stoned idol were found.
There are several myths and legends prevalent among the locals about the dighi. They believe that bathing in the waters of Mahisar's pond frees one from sins and diseases. And so, numerous devotees from far and wide come to bathe in this dighi (large-sized pond) with various vows. For many years, Hindu community pujas have been organised on the banks of this pond on Saturdays and Tuesdays of the week.
