Dubai-based carrier flydubai has won the "Airline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle East" award for the third time at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2026, the airline said in a press release issued on Friday.

The award, presented at the 25th edition of the annual ceremony in Dubai, recognises the airline's role in strengthening regional and international connectivity and expanding access to previously underserved destinations.

flydubai said the recognition, based on votes cast by the public and readers of 'Business Traveller Middle East' magazine, reflects the airline's strategy of promoting trade, tourism and easier travel through an expanding route network.

The carrier said it has focused on opening new markets that previously lacked direct connections to Dubai, further reinforcing the emirate's position as a global aviation hub.

"We are pleased to have received the 'Airline with the Best Connectivity in the Middle East' award for the third time," said Mohammed Hareb Al-Mheiri, flydubai's Chief Procurement and Technology Officer.

"Since 2009, we have remained committed to opening underserved markets, enhancing connectivity and creating greater flows of trade and tourism across our network from our home in Dubai," he said.

Al-Mheiri added that the airline's customer-focused and agile approach had enabled it to expand services to more than 100 destinations that previously had no direct air links with Dubai.

The carrier has recently added new destinations and announced further route expansions as part of its growth strategy.

It launched three weekly flights to Benghazi, Libya, on 17 June and is scheduled to begin daily services to Bangkok, Thailand, from 1 July, followed by flights to Pokhara, Nepal, from 23 September.

flydubai is also operating an expanded summer schedule between June and September, serving seasonal destinations including Al Alamein in Egypt, Antalya in Turkey, Batumi in Georgia, Dubrovnik in Croatia, Mykonos and Santorini in Greece, Olbia in Italy and Trabzon in Turkey.

The airline currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft and serves more than 100 destinations, while its overall network has expanded to more than 140 destinations since its launch in 2009.
