The authorities concerned have issued a new directive for tourists visiting Sada Pathar, a tourist spot in Companyganj upazila, Sylhet, to use No 10 Boat Ghat in Bholaganj to ensure their safety, reports Bangladesh Monitor.

At the same time, travel to Sada Pathar via the Bangladesh-India border adjacent road through Kalairag has been completely prohibited.
A notice has been issued regarding the matter. Additionally, a signboard was put up in the Kalairag area on Thursday (June 4) on behalf of the Companyganj upazila administration, urging tourists to use Bholaganj No 10 Ghat.

The signboard states: "Use Bholaganj No. 10 Ghat for travel to the Sada Pathar tourist spot. Travel by tourists through Kalairag along the Bangladesh-India border is completely prohibited. This step has been taken in the interest of tourist safety."

Meanwhile, the lessees of the boat ghat have also held a press conference on the issue. On behalf of the lessees, it was stated that in accordance with the lease terms for the Bengali year 1433, the Sada Pathar ghat is being managed properly, beautifully, orderly, and transparently. The upazila administration has been informed about the matter.

Recently, many tourists have been entering Sada Pathar using the border-adjacent route through Kalairag. However, this route is extremely risky. Illegally crossing the border poses not only the risk of loss of life but also the danger of falling into the clutches of human trafficking rings. Therefore, to ensure tourist safety, that route through Kalairag has been closed off with bamboo fencing.

The lessees have urged tourists not to use any alternative or border-adjacent routes but to travel to the Sada Pathar tourist spot via Bholaganj No 10 Boat Ghat in the interest of their own safety.
