Two airports operated by Adani Group have been included in the Prix Versailles World’s Most Beautiful Airports List 2026, reports Indian media outlet Millenium Post.

Prix Versailles, an international architecture and design award presented at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, selected Navi Mumbai International Airport’s Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport among the world’s seven most beautiful airports this year.

The awards recognise excellence in architecture, sustainability, innovation, cultural identity and passenger experience. Navi Mumbai International Airport was honoured for its lotus-inspired design by renowned architecture firm Zaha Hadid Architects and its integration of technology and sustainability. The recognition comes as the airport prepares for a phased operational ramp-up and expansion of aviation capacity in the Mumbai metropolitan region.

Guwahati Airport’s Terminal 2 was recognised for a design inspired by the Bamboo Orchid, reflecting the biodiversity and cultural heritage of Northeast India. The terminal incorporates sustainable features, including bamboo elements, passive daylighting and biophilic design. According to Prix Versailles, Navi Mumbai airport combines futuristic architecture with operational functionality, while its digital art programme enhances the passenger experience through interactive installations.

The Guwahati terminal was praised for embracing regional identity through indigenous art, tribal narratives and local craftsmanship embedded within its interiors. Its sweeping vaulted ceilings and fluid design patterns draw inspiration from Assam’s landscapes and the Brahmaputra River system.

The inclusion of both airports reflects the efforts of Adani Airport Holdings Ltd to develop large-scale aviation infrastructure with a strong focus on design, sustainability. Other airports on the 2026 list are located in Guangzhou, Frankfurt, Kandal Stueng, Pittsburgh and San Diego. Three airports from the shortlist will later receive Prix Versailles global titles for architecture, interior or exterior design.
