Germany keen to expand aviation cooperation with Bangladesh

Germany has expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Bangladesh’s aviation sector, with a particular focus on airport services and technical support.

The issue was discussed during a courtesy meeting between Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and German Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr. Rudiger Lotz at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Sunday, according to a press release from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat was also present at the meeting.

During the discussion, both sides emphasised further strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Germany, particularly in the aviation and tourism sectors. Bangladesh sought Germany’s cooperation in advancing its aviation infrastructure and services.
The German envoy reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continuing strong support for Bangladesh under the current government. He also highlighted the interest of German firm Aerodata in providing airport calibration services in Bangladesh.

In response, the minister and state minister expressed their willingness to work closely with the German government to modernise and develop the country’s aviation sector.
