Riyadh Air interested to operate in Bangladesh
Discussions focused on the potential establishment of a station and the launch of regular flights by Riyadh Air, a move considered likely to strengthen air connectivity between the two countries
Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s second national carrier, has expressed interested in launching operations of the airliner in Bangladesh.
Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Abdullah Zafer H Bin Abiyah revealed the information during a courtesy call on Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Milat at civil aviation ministry in the capital on Sunday, says a press release.
According to a ministry release, the minister stressed the need to further improve the service standards of Saudi Airlines for Bangladeshi passengers, while the ambassador assured that efforts would be made to enhance service quality.
Discussions focused on the potential establishment of a station and the launch of regular flights by Riyadh Air, a move considered likely to strengthen air connectivity between the two countries.
Two parties also highlighted opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the tourism sector, with both sides expressing optimism about expanding joint initiatives.
The Bangladeshi side encouraged the Saudi carrier to consider operating flights not only from Dhaka but also Sylhet and Chattogram, aiming to enhance regional connectivity.
