Advance return train ticket sale for Eid travel starts Friday

Bangladesh Railway will begin selling advance tickets for return journeys after Eid-ul-Fitr from Friday, following the completion of advance ticket sales for outbound Eid travel.

According to railway authorities, passengers will be able to purchase tickets for 23 March journeys on 13 March. Tickets for 24 March will be available on 14 March, while tickets for 25 March, 26 March, 27 March, 28 March and 29 March will be sold on 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 March respectively.

All tickets for Eid travel are being sold entirely online to ensure a smoother purchasing process for passengers.

Under Bangladesh Railway’s schedule, tickets for all intercity trains operating in the western region will go on sale from 8:00am, while tickets for intercity trains running in the eastern region will be available from 2:00pm each day.

Railway officials said the staggered timing has been introduced to make ticket purchasing easier and to reduce pressure on the online booking system during the peak Eid travel season.
