Baishakhi art exhibition at Gulshan Society Lake Park
15 renowned and promising artists from Bangladesh participated in this exhibition
A daylong art exhibition celebrating Pahela Baishakh was organised by the Gulshan Society and Oligoli Bondhugon jointly at Gulshan Society Lake Park on Tuesday.
Berger Paints managing director Rupali Chowdhury inaugurated the event. US Ambassador Brent Christensen also visited the spot, engaging with the participating artists.
A total of 15 renowened Bangladeshi artistes, including Hashem Khan, Biren Shome, Rokeya Sultana, Jamal Ahmed, Sheikh Afzal, Ahmed Shamsuddoha, Mohammad Eunus, Mohammad Iqbal, Anisuzzaman Anis, Maqsuda Nipa, Bishwajit Goswami, Avi Shankar Ain, Fahim CHowdhury, Shahanoor Mamun and Hasura Akhter Rumky, presented 20 artworks.
Hashem Khan focused on pottery themes, while Sheikh Afzal created a mystical piece featuring a child and a goat. Rokeya Sultana presented a puzzling composition of a child and a staircase, and Biswajit Goswami incorporated Bangla typography to express his love for his mother language.
Curated by Amity Kundu, Senior Lecturer at North South University, the exhibition attracted numerous visitors who appreciated the artistic displays. The event ran from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
