The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has completed all preparations for Hajj operations this year, introducing an expanded flight schedule and reduced airfares to ease travel for pilgrims, a senior official of the ministry said on Thursday.

Officials said the measures are aimed at ensuring smoother transportation and improved overall management of the pilgrimage, building on recent efforts to enhance service quality and passenger experience in the aviation sector.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to formally inaugurate the Hajj flight operations at 11:30pm on April 17.

The ministry noted that coordination among airlines, Hajj agencies and relevant authorities has been strengthened to minimise disruptions and ensure timely departures. Additional flights have been arranged to accommodate the large number of pilgrims, while fare reductions are expected to provide financial relief to travellers.

The latest preparations come as part of broader reforms in Hajj management, including the recent introduction of digital services and stricter oversight of agencies to improve accountability and service standards.

Officials expressed hope that the combined measures will help ensure a more organised, affordable and hassle-free Hajj experience for Bangladeshi pilgrims this year.
