Civil aviation minister's mother passes away

The mother of Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita died early Sunday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital, officials said.

Huron Nahar Rashid passed away at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka in the early hours of the morning, the minister’s Assistant Private Secretary Md. Abdul Awal Bulbul confirmed. 

Funeral prayers will be held after religious rites at Azad Mosque in Gulshan before her body is taken to Manikganj’s Munnoo City, where she will be laid to rest at the family graveyard, he said. 

She will be buried beside her late husband, former minister Harunar Rashid Khan Monnoo.
