With aim to ensure and improve the comfort and safety of the passengers, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam has directed authorities concerned to strengthen cleanliness measures, including the immediate rollout of mosquito control campaigns, at all airports across the country.

The directive was given at the January review meeting on the implementation progress of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the 2025–26 fiscal year at the ministry’s conference room, according to a press release.

At the meeting,she stressed maintaining proper hygiene standards and ordered immediate mosquito control spraying at airport premises and surrounding areas, says a press release.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat told the meeting that the shortage of luggage trolleys at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport should be addressed urgently to enhance service standards.

He emphasised the need to procure 1,000 new trolleys at the earliest opportunity and urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure passengers can travel smoothly and without harassment.

Both ministers instructed officials to ensure smooth passenger movement without harassment and to complete ongoing development projects within the stipulated timeframe.

Secretary Nasreen Jahan, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, along with other senior officials, were present at the meeting.
