Biman sends engineers to Rome to fix the glitch
The state flag carrier's maintenance crew will work immediately upon arrival to rectify the fault

Biman Bangladesh Airlines plans to resume its Rome-Dhaka flight on Saturday night after engineers and spare parts are sent from Dhaka to repair the aircraft currently grounded at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport.
The aircraft scheduled to operate flight BG306 from Rome to Dhaka on 7 August, registration S2-AJY, is currently in an Aircraft on Ground (AOG) condition due to a technical fault, according to an airline update.
A team of Biman engineers, along with the required spare parts, is being sent to Rome on flight BG305 on 8 August to carry out the necessary repairs.
The engineering team and spare parts are expected to reach Rome at 16:50 UTC (6:50pm local time) on Saturday. Maintenance crews will work immediately upon arrival to rectify the fault.
If the technical problem is resolved as planned and all necessary safety checks are completed, BG306 is scheduled to depart Rome at 20:00 UTC (10:00pm local time) on 8 August.
The flight is expected to arrive in Dhaka at around 10:30am Bangladesh Standard Time on 9 August.Biman said passengers would be kept informed regularly about any changes to the flight schedule.
The disruption follows an earlier technical fault that forced BG306, operating on the Toronto-Rome-Dhaka route, to remain grounded in Rome, affecting hundreds of passengers. The airline has arranged accommodation and meals for passengers stranded in Rome while repair work is carried out.
