Bodies of five expats reach Sylhet from Qatar
The Wage Earners' Welfare Board provided financial support to bring the bodies of the five Bangladeshi expatriates killed in a road accident in Qatar's Shahaniya area
The bodies of five hapless Bangladeshi expatriates killed in a road accident in Qatar's Shahaniya area has arrived in Sylhet today (Tuesday). A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the corpses arrived at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport at 6:50 am.
The Wage Earners' Welfare Board provided financial support to bring the bodies home, according to a press release issued Tuesday by Mohammad Mashhudul Kabir, Counsellor (Labour) at the Labour Welfare Wing of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Doha, Qatar.
The release said the five Bangladeshi expatriates from Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet were killed in a road accident in Qatar's Shahaniya area on the morning of June 21.
The deceased are Abdul Kadir of Gachbari village, Mustak Ahmed Afnan of Majhataluk village, Jubayer Ahmed of the same village, Jasim Uddin of Agataluk village, and Jibal Ahmed of Amarpur village.
The Labour Welfare Wing said the bodies would be sent to Bangladesh on June 29 at 10:15 pm (Qatar local time) on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-226 from Hamad International Airport.
The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment said the relevant ministry wing is actively processing the necessary documentation and procedures required to release and hand over the bodies to their respective families.
