Get your Indian tourist visa from Sunday
Applications will be accepted at five Indian Visa Application Centres in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet, with the service expected to expand to other centres across the country in phases
India will resume accepting tourist visa applications from Bangladeshi nationals from tomorrow (28 June), marking the reopening of the service after nearly two years.
In the first phase, applications will be accepted at five Indian Visa Application Centres (IVACs) in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet, with the service expected to expand to other centres across the country in phases.
The announcement was made by India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi, following his visit to the Indian Visa Application Centre at Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka on 25 June.
Speaking to reporters, Trivedi said the tourist visa service would initially be launched at the five centres, while applications at other IVACs would begin gradually, subject to operational capacity and demand.
The centres accepting tourist visa applications are:
• Dhaka: Jamuna Future Park, G-1 Floor, South Court, Pragati Sarani, Baridhara.
• Chattogram: City Centre, 2nd Floor, CDA Avenue, East Nasirabad.
• Rajshahi: Mariam Ali Tower, 1st Floor, Barnali Mor (Old Bilshimla).
• Khulna: Rahat Centre, 71 (New), Syed Ali Hossain Road (Outer Bypass Road), Chhoto Boyra.
• Sylhet: Rahim Tower, Sobhanighat, Bishwaroad.
The reopening of tourist visa applications is expected to facilitate travel between Bangladesh and India, restoring an important service for thousands of Bangladeshi travellers after a prolonged suspension.
Applicants are advised to submit their visa applications only through the designated IVACs and follow the prescribed procedures and documentation requirements.
