Omni Residency Banani win futsal title

Hotel Omni Residency Banani were crowned champions of the Omni Futsal 2026 tournament after securing a convincing 2-0 victory over Omni GMT Group in the final at the ASCB Futsal Ground, adjacent to the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka, on Sunday.
The corporate tournament brought together three teams representing different units of the Omni Group: Hotel Omni Residency Banani, Hotel Omni Residency Baridhara and the Omni GMT Group Management Team.

Omni GMT Group progressed to the final after defeating Hotel Omni Residency Baridhara in the group stage but were unable to match the clinical performance of Hotel Omni Residency Banani, who sealed the title with two well-taken goals.
Held at the Army Mini Stadium (ASCB Futsal Ground), the competition formed part of the company's employee engagement and wellness programme, promoting teamwork, healthy competition and stronger collaboration among staff members across the organisation.

The tournament was organised under the leadership of GM Tuku, Managing Director of Omni GMT Group, who emphasised the importance of sport in fostering team spirit, leadership and a positive workplace culture.
A prize-giving ceremony is scheduled in the evening today to honour the champions, runners-up and outstanding individual performers, recognising their contributions throughout the tournament.

The Omni Futsal 2026 tournament reflects the growing trend among corporate organisations in Bangladesh to use sporting events as a platform to encourage employee well-being, strengthen workplace relationships and build a culture of collaboration beyond the office.
