Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanom Rita will present the championship trophy of Bangladesh’s first-ever Airlines Football Club (AFC) Cup Championship 2026 at the closing ceremony on Saturday in Dhaka.

The closing ceremony of the two-day futsal tournament, organised by the Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB), will be held at the Gulshan Youth Club Field in Gulshan-2 from 4:30pm.

The grand final will kick off at 4:45pm following the third-place playoff, while the minister will hand over the championship trophy to the winning team after the final.

The tournament, being held under the theme 'One Sky, One Field, One Champion', brought together 16 domestic and international airlines in Bangladesh’s first premier airlines football championship.

The semifinal matches will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, with Air India taking on US-Bangla Airlines in the first semifinal.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines will face Qatar Airways in the second semifinal at 2:45pm.

The third-place playoff is scheduled for 4:10pm before the final begins at 4:45pm.

The tournament was inaugurated on Friday by State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque in the presence of the ambassadors of Brazil and Argentina to Bangladesh.

Organisers said the championship aims to strengthen friendship, networking, and professional cooperation among domestic and international airlines operating in Bangladesh through sports.
