The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has launched a five-day Training Instructors Course (TIC) in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization, as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s aviation training standards in line with global practices.

The course, being held at the Civil Aviation Academy in Dhaka from April 5 to 9, is designed to enhance the capacity of aviation professionals to deliver instruction that meets internationally recognised benchmarks, official of the CAAB said.
Officials from various departments of CAAB are taking part in the programme, with successful participants set to receive certification from ICAO upon completion.

The inaugural session was presided over by Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, Member (Operations and Planning) of CAAB, who highlighted the importance of modernising training systems in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven global aviation industry.

He highlighted that developing skilled instructors is essential for sustainable human resource growth in the sector, adding that such initiatives could also open opportunities for Bangladeshi trainers to work internationally.

The course is being conducted by Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty, Director of the Civil Aviation Academy and an ICAO-certified instructor. According to him, the training follows ICAO’s competency-based methodology and focuses on modern teaching techniques, presentation skills, assessment strategies and training design, with a strong emphasis on practical application.
Mohammad Mozibur Rahman Miaji, Deputy Director of Air Traffic Management at the academy, also attended the opening ceremony as a special guest.

Officials said the initiative is expected to contribute significantly to improving the overall quality, efficiency and safety of Bangladesh’s civil aviation sector.
