Rajshahi Airport to be upgraded to international standard
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu revealed the information at a scholarship distribution ceremony
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has said Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R) Airport in Rajshahi will be upgraded to international standard.
He made the remarks this afternoon (Monday) while speaking as the chief guest at the Rajshahi District Council's scholarship distribution ceremony organised by the council.
"In terms of law and order and cleanliness, Rajshahi is, at present, one of the best cities in Bangladesh. Rajshahi Airport will soon be upgraded to international standard, and an agro-based EPZ will be established here to expand trade and commerce," said Minu, also a former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation.
Special guests at the event included Shafiqul Haque Milon, MP, Professor Nazrul Islam Mondal, MP, Divisional Commissioner Dr ANM Bazlur Rashid, Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, former City Mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul, Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam and Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Md Faruk Hossain.
At the end of the event, the minister handed over scholarship cheques of Tk 5,000 and crests to 483 meritorious SSC 2025 students.
The event was presided over by District Council Administrator Advocate Ershad Ali Isha.
