Bangladesh and Kuwait have reaffirmed their interest in expanding cooperation in tourism, civil aviation, investment and manpower mobility following a high-level visit by a Bangladeshi delegation to Kuwait.
The Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs to the Government of Bangladesh, Humayun Kabir recently visited Kuwait as a special envoy, accompanied by State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat and Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, focusing on ways to strengthen bilateral engagement and broaden cooperation in sectors of mutual interest.
According to officials, discussions covered tourism development, aviation connectivity, investment opportunities and overseas employment, alongside measures to deepen people-to-people connection between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed the growing demand for air connectivity and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation in tourism and passenger travel.
During the meeting, the Bangladeshi delegation conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and sought Kuwait’s support for Bangladesh’s candidacy in the upcoming United Nations resident representative election.
The Kuwaiti foreign minister expressed satisfaction over the steady progress in bilateral relations and voiced optimism about further expanding cooperation in the years ahead.
Officials said the visit is expected to reinforce diplomatic relations and create new momentum for collaboration in tourism and civil aviation between Bangladesh and Kuwait.
