Shanghai international boat and tourism fair concludes successfully
The exhibition showcased over 10,000 new products from more than 6,000 exhibitors
The 2026 China (Shanghai) 29th International Boat and Technology Equipment Exhibition (CIBS2026) and the Shanghai International Boat Show were held from March 29 to 31, 2026, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, reports China Urban News.
As a key component of the 2026 Shanghai Tourism Industry Expo, the event operated under the theme "Gathering Industries, Travel the World," focusing on the deep integration of "tourism + various industries”. The expo covered a total exhibition area exceeding 700,000 square meters across three major venues, attracting nearly 450,000 professional visitors from 140 countries and regions. International attendance saw a significant increase, with the number of overseas visitors rising by nearly 50 percent compared to the previous year.
The exhibition showcased over 10,000 new products from more than 6,000 exhibitors. Highlights included the display of numerous actual boats, such as SeaRay yachts, fishing boats, sailboats, and official duty vessels. Industry leaders including Honda, Mercury Marine, and various Chinese manufacturers unveiled new electric propulsion systems, intelligent navigation technologies, and eco-friendly marine solutions.
A major announcement during the fair was that the 2027 ICOMIA World Marina Conference will be held in Shanghai, marking its first time in China. This decision underscores Shanghai's growing status as a global hub for the marine and boating industry.
The event also featured the "2026 Matchmaking Meeting," an international trade pairing session that connected exhibitors with buyers from Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America. According to organizers, the session achieved a business matching success rate of over 70 percent.
Alongside the boat show, the 2026 Lifestyle Shanghai Show ran concurrently, featuring sections on water sports, outdoor activities, and luxury lifestyle products.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, the Shanghai Shipbuilding Industry Association, and other partners.
