Their discussions centred on the safety and security of Bangladeshi migrant workers in those Gulf countries amid ongoing regional tensions

FM discusses Bangladeshi migrants’ safety with 4 Gulf ministers
The calls were made by Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, and Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi of Qatar.

Foreign and state ministers from four Gulf countries held separate telephone conversations with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman on Monday (2 March), with discussions centred on the safety and security of Bangladeshi migrants amid ongoing regional tensions, says a press release.

According to the press release, the calls were made by Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah of Kuwait, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani of Bahrain, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, and Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi of Qatar.

During the discussions, the Gulf leaders assured that necessary measures had been taken to ensure the safety, protection and welfare of Bangladeshi nationals living in their respective countries. They described Bangladeshi migrants as hardworking, law-abiding and responsible, and acknowledged their significant contribution to local economies.

The ministers also expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of two Bangladeshi nationals and injuries to seven others in the ongoing conflict, reaffirming their commitment to protecting civilians. They thanked Bangladesh for expressing solidarity during the difficult period and reiterated the strong and longstanding ties between Bangladesh and their countries.
