The Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh will host the Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair-2025, the country’s largest tourism exhibition, from 30 October to 1 November at the BangladeshChina Friendship Conference Centre.

Details of the event were announced by the association’s president, Md Rafiuzzaman, during a press briefing and memorandum of understanding signing ceremony at the InterContinental Dhaka on Saturday (1 September).

This year’s fair will emphasise sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism. The exhibition will feature 220 stalls across four pavilions, with more than 250 exhibitors from over 20 countries expected to participate.

Organisers say the event will bring together more than 2,000 commercial representatives, while visitor numbers are expected to exceed 50,000.

Rafiuzzaman said the fair will also feature a special zone dedicated to medical tourism.

Tourism organisations and associations from Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka have already confirmed their participation, while discussions are ongoing with several other countries.

Travel operators and agents from Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates and Turkey are also expected to attend.

The fair will feature participation from international and domestic airlines, travel agencies, hotels, resorts and cruise operators.

Other attractions will include business-to-business (B2B) meetings, seminars, roundtable discussions, cultural programmes, and daily screenings of documentaries highlighting tourist destinations across Bangladesh. Visitors will also be able to take part in raffle draws offering various prizes.

Md Taslim Amin Shobhon, the association’s director for trade and fairs, said this year’s event marks the 13th edition of the exhibition and will be organised on a significantly larger scale than in previous years.

He added that the exhibitor registration system has been upgraded on the fair’s official website, enabling international participants to register online and access event information more easily.

“For the first time in Bangladesh, a dedicated mobile app for the fair has also been launched. It will provide venue maps, stall details and an easier way for visitors to navigate the exhibition,” he said.

Organisers said the event will be plastic-free and will include tree-planting initiatives and awareness campaigns promoting eco-friendly tourism across the country’s eight divisions.

A competition for travel photography, videos and travel stories will also be held, with winning entries to be showcased during the fair.

In her remarks, Sayema Shahin Sultana, chairman of the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, highlighted the importance of the fair in promoting the tourism sector and assured the government’s full support for the event.

The press briefing was hosted by Md Yunus, director for media and public relations at the association.

The fair’s brand ambassador, Shubhashish Bhumik, was also present.
