BMET explores scope to send skilled workers in China

The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) sat in a meeting with a delegation from China's state-owned China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) on Saturday with an eye to exploring the possibility of recruiting skilled Bangladeshi workers for the Chinese labour market.

The meeting focused on creating new employment opportunities in China, strengthening bilateral cooperation, and identifying potential sectors for deploying skilled workers from Bangladesh, according to a BMET social media post.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on Bangladesh's skilled workforce, technical and language training, and workforce development programmes tailored to the demands of the international labour market. They also discussed potential areas for the future recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in China.

The BMET director general highlighted the government's initiatives to develop a skilled, internationally competitive workforce through various training programmes. He expressed optimism that closer cooperation between Bangladesh and China would open up new employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.

CCECC representatives praised the potential of Bangladesh's skilled workforce and expressed interest in expanding cooperation to facilitate the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers in the future.

BMET said it continues to work with international partners to strengthen cooperation aimed at ensuring safe, orderly and skilled labour migration while expanding overseas employment opportunities for Bangladeshi workers.
