CAAB, Fire Service ink MoU to boost airport emergency response
The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at the CAAB headquarters in Kurmitola, Dhaka.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening emergency response and aviation safety at airports across the country.
The agreement focuses on enhancing cooperation in Search and Rescue (SAR) and Rescue and Fire Fighting (RFF) operations to ensure faster and more coordinated responses to accidents, fires and other emergencies in and around airport areas.
The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at the CAAB headquarters in Kurmitola, Dhaka.
CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mostafa Mahmood Siddiq attended the event as chief guest, while FSCD Director General Brigadier General Muhammad Jahed Kamal was present as special guest.
Director of Air Traffic Management of CAAB Md Shamsul Haque and FSCD Deputy Director (Operations and Maintenance) Md Mamunur Rashid signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the deal, the two agencies will collaborate on rapid response mechanisms, joint training programmes, information sharing and technical support during aviation emergencies.
Officials said the partnership is expected to improve Bangladesh’s ability to respond to potential airport accidents, carry out rescue missions and conduct firefighting operations more efficiently.
Representatives from CAAB, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Ministry of Home Affairs, FSCD and members of the media were present at the signing ceremony.
