Bangladesh and Turkey have expressed renewed commitment to strengthening cooperation in aviation and tourism, with both sides exploring new opportunities for partnership in the sector.

The development came during a courtesy meeting between Turkish Ambassador to Dhaka Ramis Sen and the Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Afroza Khanam at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon. State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat was also present at the meeting, according to top officials of the ministry.

Officials said during the discussion, both sides emphasised the importance of deepening bilateral relations and expanding collaboration in tourism development, capacity building, and aviation services.

The Turkish ambassador expressed interest of Turkey-based company Çelebi Aviation Holding in participating in ground handling operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The minister and state minister welcomed the proposal and reiterated Bangladesh’s willingness to work closely with Turkey in enhancing efficiency and investment in the aviation sector.

Officials said the meeting reflects growing momentum in Bangladesh-Turkey relations, particularly in areas linked to transport connectivity and tourism growth.
