Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam on Saturday said the benefits of projects implemented with public funds must ultimately reach the people, stressing the need for transparency, accountability and proper monitoring in project implementation.

She made the remarks while addressing a meeting on the implementation progress of the Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) for April of the 2025-26 fiscal year at the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at the Bangladesh Secretariat, says a press release.

The minister said all ongoing projects under the ministry should be completed within the shortest possible time in line with the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

She also emphasised the importance of evaluating the financial feasibility of any future aviation or tourism-related project before approval.

“Proper planning is essential before constructing any infrastructure or facility,” she said, adding that officials concerned must remain more cautious and responsible in monitoring contractors and ensuring work progress.

Afroza Khanam said strict oversight at every stage of project implementation is necessary to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

The meeting was conducted by Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Fahmida Akhter.

Among others, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, senior ministry officials and directors of various ongoing projects attended the meeting.
