They offered the prayers in the day’s first Eid congregation held at 7:30 am at the national Eidgah ground

President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers along with hundreds of devotees at the National Eidgah on Eid morning.

They joined the day’s first Eid congregation, held at 7:30am at the national Eidgah ground, according to the President’s Press Wing, reports BSS.

After the prayers, they joined a munajat with devotees, seeking blessings from Almighty Allah for the Muslim Ummah and the nation.

The congregation was attended by the Chief Justice, cabinet members, the administrator of the Dhaka South City Corporation, judges of the Supreme Court and High Court, members of parliament, political leaders, diplomats and senior civil and military officials.

Khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Mufti Muhammad Abdul Malek, led the Eid prayers.

A special munajat was offered after the prayers, seeking divine blessings for peace, progress and prosperity in Bangladesh, as well as the welfare of its people and the Muslim Ummah.

Following the prayers, the President exchanged Eid greetings with the Prime Minister, cabinet members and people from different walks of life.

Like previous years, the Eid congregation at the National Eidgah was held under the supervision of Dhaka South City Corporation. Separate arrangements were also made for women devotees.

Meanwhile, heightened security measures were taken in and around the Eidgah premises.
