Metro rail services in the capital will remain suspended on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr, authorities have announced.

In a notice issued on 16 March, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said that all metro operations will remain closed for the Eid holiday. 

The statement was signed by the organisation’s Director (Administration), AKM Khairul Alam.

According to the notice, regular metro rail services will resume from the day after Eid, operating as per the usual schedule.

Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to be observed on 21 March, subject to the sighting of the moon.

Passengers have been advised to plan their travel accordingly.
