Five individuals and one travel magazine were honoured for their outstanding contributions to travel literature, photography, adventure travel and creative content at the 'Awards for Travel & Creative Excellence 2026', hosted by the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association.

The award ceremony was held on Saturday at the auditorium of Bishwa Sahitya Kendra in Banglamotor in the capital city of Dhaka.

Among the recipients, Muhammad Mostafizur Rahman, head of news photography at bdnews24.com, received the Syeda Khanam Travel Photography Award for his contribution to travel photography.

The Syed Mujtaba Ali Travel Literature Award was presented to Mahfuzur Rahman, while the Ramnath Biswas Adventure Travel Award went to Muntasir Mamun.

Anisuzzaman Sohel received the Best Creative Art Director Award, and Salahuddin Sumon was honoured as Best Travel Content Creator.

The award for Best Travel Literature Magazine was presented to Bhramangadya, edited by Mahmud Hafez.

The event was chaired by Mohiuddin Helal, editor of Parjatan Bichitra and director of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation.

Among others, Ahsan Habib, editor of Unmad, AHM Shafiquzzaman, president of the Consumers Rights Association, and media personality KHM Harun addressed the programme.

Welcome remarks were delivered by the association’s general secretary Jahangir Alam Shovon. The programme was hosted by executive members Fuad Bin Omar and Shakil Bin Mostak, while a video message from association president Ashrafuzzaman Ujjal was also screened.

Organisers said the Bangladesh Travel Writers Association presents the awards every two years to recognise excellence in travel storytelling, literature, photography and creative arts.

The event highlighted the growing importance of travel writers, photographers and digital creators in promoting Bangladesh’s tourism, culture and heritage through storytelling and visual content.
