Airbus shows interest in mixed fleet for Biman Bangladesh
The minister and state minister welcomed the proposal and expressed their commitment to working closely with Airbus to modernise and expand the national carrier’s fleet
Airbus has expressed interest in supporting the development of a mixed aircraft fleet for Bangladesh’s national carrier, during a meeting with senior government officials in Dhaka.
The discussion took place on Tuesday at the Secretariat, where Airbus Vice President Edward Delahaye met Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam, says a press release.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat, Civil Aviation Secretary Fahmida Akhtar and Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director Kaiser Sohel Ahmed, were also present at the meeting.
During the talks, Airbus conveyed its interest in collaborating with Biman Bangladesh Airlines to develop a mixed fleet strategy, potentially incorporating aircraft from multiple manufacturers.

Officials said such cooperation could play a key role in enhancing operational efficiency, expanding route networks, and improving service standards in Bangladesh’s aviation sector.
