Air China to launch first direct flights to Iceland

Air China will launch direct flights between China and Iceland from October 26, establishing the first-ever air link between the two countries.
The route will operate as a fifth-freedom service, extending the airline's existing Beijing-Copenhagen route onward from Copenhagen to Keflavik.
Air China will operate three weekly flights on the route using its Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Tickets are already available for purchase through the carrier's official website.
The new service was announced by the Chinese Embassy in Iceland and is being presented as a significant addition to air connectivity between Asia and Europe.
The route is expected to provide a significant boost to Iceland's tourism sector while strengthening business and travel links between the two countries.
Industry estimates released earlier this year suggested the new connection could generate billions of Icelandic krónur (ISK) in additional tourism export revenue for Iceland.
