Five additional international flights have been cancelled at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has disrupted air operations at several regional airports including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Doha.

The information was confirmed on Thursday night by the airport’s public relations officer, Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil.

Airport officials said the cancelled services include two arrival flights of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dubai and one departure flight bound for Dubai.

In addition, one arrival and one departure flight operated by US-Bangla Airlines on Middle Eastern routes were also cancelled

Despite the disruptions, several other flights continued to operate normally. On Thursday, four arrival flights from the Middle East and six departure flights to different destinations in the region were operated as scheduled by various airlines.

Airport authorities said that flights from Sharjah and Dubai to Chattogram operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Air Arabia and US-Bangla Airlines are gradually returning to normal operations.

Meanwhile, flights on the Jeddah, Madinah and Muscat routes remain fully operational.

According to airport data, a total of 105 international flights have been cancelled since 28 February due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, including the five flights cancelled on Thursday.
