6,175 Hajj pilgrims return home
So far, 416 pilgrims have returned under government management, while 5,759 returned through private travel agency arrangements
A total of 6,175 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Sunday, following the completion of this year's Hajj on June 26.
A total of 15 return flights were operated by three designated carriers—three by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, four by Saudia Airlines and eight by Flynas Airlines, reports state-run news agency BSS, quoting a press release.
The Hajj Office said that, so far, 416 pilgrims have returned under government management, while 5,759 returned through private travel agency arrangements.
At least 37 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died during Hajj in Saudi Arabia, including 24 men and 13 women. Of them, 27 died in Makkah and 10 in Medina.
No deaths have been reported in Jeddah, Mina or Muzdalifah.
This year's Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on April 18 and concluded on May 21.
The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until June 30.
