Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh's Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat at the ministry in Dhaka on Wednesday.

At the meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions on strengthening people-to-people connectivity between China and Bangladesh and enhancing cooperation in the civil aviation and tourism sectors.

According to the report of CMG Bangla Desk, Ambassador Yao congratulated Minister Rita and State Minister Millat on assuming their new responsibilities. He noted that people-to-people connectivity is an important foundation of China-Bangladesh relations and has played a vital role in enhancing cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

He further stated that China is ready to strengthen policy coordination with Bangladesh, increase cooperation in the civil aviation and tourism industries, and facilitate mutual travel between the peoples of the two countries, which will inject new momentum into the development of China-Bangladesh relations.

The Bangladeshi side expressed gratitude for Ambassador Yao's goodwill and acknowledged China for its longstanding and steadfast support for Bangladesh's economic and social development. They stated that Bangladesh is eager to further strengthen cooperation with China in the civil aviation and tourism sectors, enhance people-to-people connectivity, and make positive contributions to deepening the friendship between the two countries.
