UK warns Bangladeshis over rising visa fraud

The British High Commission in Dhaka has issued a warning to Bangladeshi nationals about an increase in fraudulent schemes involving false promises of UK visas and job opportunities, urging the public to remain cautious and report suspicious activity.

In a statement posted on its verified Facebook page on Tuesday, the High Commission said it has received growing reports of individuals being misled by fake claims of guaranteed visa approvals and overseas employment in the United Kingdom.

The mission strongly advised that any suspected visa-related fraud be reported confidentially via email at BangladeshVisaFraud@fcdo.gov.uk. It also reminded applicants that all official visa information and guidance are only available through the UK government’s website, www.gov.uk.

Authorities noted that visa fraud targeting prospective migrants remains a recurring issue in South Asia, where high demand for work and study abroad often exposes individuals to exploitation by dishonest agents and intermediaries.
