The government has suspended all Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board until 16 July due to adverse weather conditions and the worsening flood situation in the region.

The suspension applies to all examinations conducted under the Chattogram Education Board, as well as the Madrasah and Technical Education Boards in the affected districts.

The decision was announced by Mahdi Amin, Adviser on Education and Primary and Mass Education to Chief Adviser Tarique Rahman.

According to the adviser, the decision was taken following consultations with Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon and the deputy commissioners of the affected districts.

The Chattogram Education Board covers Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachhari, all of which have been affected by persistent heavy rainfall and flooding in recent days.

Authorities said further decisions regarding the rescheduling of the postponed examinations would be announced in due course.
