Police urge people to avoid needless trips amid floods
Heavy rains have caused widespread waterlogging in Banani, Khilkhet and other low-lying areas of the city
Heavy rains have caused waterlogging on low-lying roads in the capital’s Banani and Khilkhet areas. This has caused traffic congestion in those areas. In this situation, it has been urged to avoid unnecessary travel. The matter was reported on the Facebook page of the Gulshan division of traffic police after 11:00 am on Sunday.
Heavy rains have caused widespread waterlogging in Banani, Khilkhet and other low-lying areas of the city, including the lower part of the Kakoli ramp of the elevated expressway.
As a result, the movement of vehicles on the roads has slowed down and traffic congestion has been created in some places.
Vehicles coming down from the elevated expressway at Kakoli intersection and those plying on the lower roads have to be extra careful.
The police message urged all motorists and pedestrians to avoid unnecessary travel. Drive slowly in waterlogged areas and maintain a safe distance. Follow an alternative route if possible. Follow the instructions of the traffic police and be patient.
