Bangladesh has sought to strengthen cooperation with Turkey and Malaysia to improve the quality of its education sector, with a focus on expanding university partnerships and knowledge exchange.

Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon made the call during separate meetings with Turkish Ambassador Ramis Şen and Malaysian High Commissioner Mohd Shuhada Othman at his office at the Secretariat on Monday, reports BSS.

The minister said Bangladesh is committed to ensuring quality education and is keen to collaborate with experienced international partners to accelerate progress. He noted that the experience and coordinated initiatives of countries like Turkey and Malaysia could play a significant role in further improving the country’s education system.

During talks with the Turkish envoy, both sides discussed strengthening long-standing bilateral relations, particularly in higher education and trade. Ambassador Şen described relations between the two countries as “very strong” and expressed Ankara’s interest in expanding cooperation between universities as well as promoting business links.

Milon said closer academic collaboration with Turkey would help raise standards in higher education while reinforcing broader bilateral ties.

In a separate meeting with the Malaysian delegation, the minister praised Malaysia’s global reputation in education, calling it a model from which Bangladesh could learn. He highlighted the potential to apply Malaysia’s experience to further develop the country’s education sector.

High Commissioner Othman reaffirmed Kuala Lumpur’s commitment to deepening engagement with Dhaka, especially in the field of education.
