Rough Bay conditions: Signal 3 continues
The Met Office said a strong pressure gradient continues over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas, contributing to rough sea conditions and increased wind activity
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has maintained Local Warning Signal No. 3 at all maritime ports as unstable weather persists over the Bay of Bengal.
In its latest advisory issued Wednesday, the Met Office said a strong pressure gradient continues over the north Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas, contributing to rough sea conditions and increased wind activity.
Accordingly, major seaports-including Chattogram Port, Cox's Bazar, Mongla Port and Payra Port-have been instructed to continue hoisting Local Warning Signal No. 3.
The Met Office also advised all fishing boats and trawlers operating in the north Bay to remain close to the coast and navigate with caution until further notice, citing the risk of sudden weather changes.
The warning follows an earlier advisory issued on Tuesday, when authorities first asked ports to hoist the same signal as conditions in the Bay began to deteriorate.
Meteorologists said they are closely monitoring the system and will issue further updates as the situation evolves.
