Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu fell ill on Saturday morning at Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari district while traveling to Lalmonirhat.

The minister arrived at Saidpur Airport by a flight from Dhaka and became sick at the lounge while discussions were underway with local party leaders and activists. He was immediately taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at Saidpur Cantonment, where he received initial treatment.

Abdur Gafur Sarkar, president of Saidpur district BNP, confirmed at 12:40 PM that an air ambulance had already departed from Dhaka to bring the minister back to the capital.

Arrangements were initially made to send the minister back to Dhaka on a scheduled commercial flight. However, as his condition did not show signs of improvement, he was unable to travel by regular flight, according to Gafur Sarkar. Later, authorities decided to transport him via air ambulance.

The minister was in Nilphamari as part of an official visit. Further updates on his health are awaited.
