Mutasim made new CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this end on August 30 appointing Farooqi to the post on deputation from the National Board of Revenue
The government has appointed National Board of Revenue (NBR) Member Barrister Mutasim Billah Farooqi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on August 30 appointing Farooqi to the post on deputation.
According to the notification, Farooqi, a Grade-2 government official, has been appointed CEO of the BTB under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. His appointment, made in the public interest, will take effect immediately.
Farooqi had been serving as NBR Member (Tax Legal and Enforcement) on a current-charge basis. He was subsequently attached to the Ministry of Public Administration for further posting before being appointed to head the national tourism organisation.
The BTB is responsible for promoting Bangladesh as a tourist destination and undertaking initiatives to develop the country’s tourism sector and attract domestic and international visitors.
