The ICAO-administered 'Aviation Security National Inspector Course', organised by the Civil Aviation Academy, Bangladesh, in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), has been successfully completed. ICAO instructor Mohammad Alamgir conducted the course.

A total of 12 local and foreign participants took part in the seven-working-day training programme and successfully completed the course. The main objective of the training was to develop skilled and competent national inspectors for aviation security oversight activities and enhance their professional capabilities in line with international standards.

Air Commodore Mohammad Asif Iqbal, Member (Security) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He congratulated the participants and urged them to put the knowledge and skills gained during the course to good use in strengthening the country's aviation security system.

Prashant Kumar Chakraborty, Director of the Civil Aviation Academy, was also present at the event. He expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of the course and reiterated the academy's commitment to developing the human resources of the country's aviation sector through the organisation of international-standard training programmes in the future.

Officials said the course is expected to play an important role ahead of the upcoming ICAO Security Audit by equipping the authority's aviation security inspectors with the necessary training and expertise.
