Technical fault delays Biman flight in Nepal, 127 stranded
After the aircraft proceeded towards the runway, the technical problem was detected, prompting the aircraft to return to the terminal
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying 127 passengers from Kathmandu to Dhaka was delayed on Sunday after a technical fault was detected shortly before departure.
Flight BG372 was scheduled to leave Kathmandu at 4pm. After the aircraft proceeded towards the runway, the technical problem was detected, prompting the aircraft to return to the terminal.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ country manager in Kathmandu said it was not immediately possible to determine how long repairs would take. Necessary arrangements were made to provide services to the stranded passengers.
Meanwhile, Biman prepared to send a larger aircraft from Dhaka to Kathmandu to bring the 127 passengers back to Bangladesh.
The replacement aircraft was reportedly scheduled to be sent to Kathmandu at around 10pm.
However, at the time of reporting, there was no reliable confirmation of whether the alternative aircraft had departed or when the stranded passengers would reach Dhaka.
Biman officials are expected to provide further updates on the revised flight arrangements once the aircraft’s technical status is confirmed.
