City Bank launches American Express Ultramarine card
Card members can choose from various 'welcome benefits', including 5 percent cashback on specified spending during the first three months after card activation, up to Tk 10,000, or a travel luggage voucher worth Tk 5,000
City Bank has officially announced the launch of the 'City Bank American Express Ultramarine Credit Card' aimed at providing its valued customers with greater convenience in their daily lives.
The credit card will be available on both a secured and unsecured basis and will offer facilities for both domestic and international transactions. Applications for the card will open on October 1, 2026.
The new card was launched at an event held at City Bank's head office in Dhaka on September 16 (Wednesday). City Bank Chairman Hossain Khaled, Kurush Dastur, Director of Global Network Services for South Asia and French Territories at American Express Banking Corporation, and Punit Mathur, Senior Manager of Network Partnerships for South Asia, jointly launched the Ultramarine Credit Card.
Also present at the event were City Bank Additional Managing Director and CFO Md Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Managing Director and Chief Information Officer Kazi Azizur Rahman, Additional Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Mahia Juned, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Md. Arup Haider, along with senior officials from both organisations.

Travel-related benefits for card members include complimentary access to City Bank American Express international and domestic lounges at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport with up to two accompanying guests. They will also receive 12 free visits to 'Priority Pass' lounges at selected airports worldwide each year. Card members and their accompanying guests can divide these visits among themselves in any manner, with each lounge entry counted as one visit.
The card will also offer card members zero cash withdrawal fees on international ATM transactions. In addition, primary card members will receive complimentary 'Meet and Greet' service at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for each visit, with up to two guests. Other benefits include savings on international air tickets and hotel bookings within the country, as well as special travel insurance and baggage benefits when purchasing international tickets through GoZayaan.
Card members will earn three 'Membership Rewards points' for every Tk 100 or $1 spent. These points can be used to collect gift vouchers, have annual fees waived, or make purchases using points. In addition, members will have access to buy-one-get-one-free buffet dining offers at selected international hotel chains in Bangladesh on weekends, along with other dining, shopping, lifestyle and travel offers through American Express.
