For first-time visitors, Patenga Sea Beach remains the most accessible and popular destination. Located just 14 kilometres south of the city centre and near the Shah Amanat International Airport, the beach has undergone significant redevelopment and is famous for its vibrant sunsets and a variety of street food, especially fried crabs, which are a local specialty.

However, for those seeking solitude, serene spots like Bashbaria Beach and Guliakhali Sea Beach, which features grass-covered land merging into mangroves, offer a more secluded experience.

The hills and trails of the district hold some of the finest waterfall treks in the country. Chief among them is Khoiyachora Waterfall in Mirsarai, which is considered one of the biggest waterfalls in Bangladesh.

Another prominent spot is Sitakunda Eco Park and the Jharjhari Trail, which features a series of smaller falls, making it an accessible destination for a day trip.
